Mediation Center Receives IBM Community Grant for Anti-Bullying Initiative
The Mediation Center of Dutchess County received a $3,000 grant for its Anti-Bullying Initiative as a result of IBM retiree Catherine Michelin’s volunteer mediator service to the Center.
In addition to the hundreds of volunteer hours Catherine donates, she also conducted an IBM presentation about tips for Internet safety and the effects of Cyberbullying on youth for the Center’s board members and mediators to qualify for the grant. “We are very grateful for Catherine’s generosity. She donates her time to help others resolve conflict constructively and upon learning of this grant, signed up to apply for it as soon as possible. Due to the tremendous number of hours she gives, the Center received the maximum grant amount possible and our members learned more about Cyberbullying,” said Jody Miller, executive director.
