Our Work
As a member of the New York statewide network of Community Dispute Resolution Centers, the Mediation Center of Dutchess County provides dispute resolution services to individuals, families, and groups. Through mediation and restorative justice practices, we help turn conflict into conversation.
We are proud to be a resource within the community, strengthening people’s ability to be heard and find solutions. We are also proud to be resourced by the community, with 97% of cases facilitated by volunteers.
Our Mission Guides Our Work
Actively engage all community members through dispute resolution tools when facing conflict.
Our Values Shape Our Interactions
- Self-determination – Acknowledge and support each individual’s voice and choice.
- Integrity – Maintain confidentiality for all parties; provide a positive example of ethical and principle-based behavior.
- Accessibility – Promote access, information and options to dispute resolution.
- Belonging – Work to make everyone feel welcome; cultivate curiosity, openness, and understanding across differences to encourage respectful, authentic, trusting relationships.
Our Vision Creates Our Future
A culture that embraces proactive dispute resolution and views conflict as an opportunity for change and growth.
