The Mediation Center of Dutchess County has received a $5,000 grant from the New York State Bar Association to develop the first phase of a program that allows families to address contested wills, estates and guardianships through mediation. Families, either on their own or with their attorneys, can develop workable solutions that can reduce time spent in court. The program is planned to launch later this year in cooperation with Dutchess County Surrogate’s Court and the Dutchess County Bar Association. The Mediation Center provides and promotes conflict prevention, management, and resolution services and education to individuals, families, businesses, and organizations in Dutchess County.
