Mediation Center to Receive Two 2013 Psychologically Healthy Community Awards
The Hudson Valley Psychological Association has awarded two Psychologically Healthy Community Awards to two programs of the Mediation Center of Dutchess County. The Anti-Bullying Initiative has received an award in the Non-Profit category.
The Anti- Bullying Initiative includes an annual Anti-Bullying Walkathon, Anti-Bullying Youth Summit and the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program, the most researched bullying prevention program in the world. The Center will also receive an award for the Coalition on Elder Abuse in Dutchess County in the collaboration across organizations category. The Coalition on Elder Abuse is comprised of more than 30 individuals and agencies committed to protecting and improving the quality of life of older adults. The Coalition holds an annual World Elder Abuse Awareness Day conference and this year will hold (6) trainings to educate the community about different aspects of elder abuse. The awards will be presented at HVPA’s award ceremony on June 8 at the FDR Wallace Center in Hyde Park.
